BOOT CAMP for the PLANNER-BUYER
Essentials for the Planner - (Day 1)
&
Essentials for the Buyer
- (Day 2)

WHY THESE TWO SEMINARS?
Nahabit & Associates, Inc. has been providing purchasing seminars to the purchasing community since 1981. These two seminars, Essentials for the Planner and Essentials for the Buyer, meet a great need within the industry. These two seminars are always offered back-to-back in two consecutive days, as many of our customers find it convenient to pick one or the other, or as most do, attend both seminars.

ESSENTIALS FOR THE PLANNER -
This seminar shows the new Planner the steps each Planner needs to go through to be an effective Buyer-Planner. The seminar has three main objectives, which are:
1) To understand principals, concepts and definitions of terms that are employed by planners in the management and control of inventories.
2) To obtain a working knowledge of the processes employed in the control and management of inventories, enhanced by the instructor's working experiences.
3) Application of the principles and concepts through exercises and case histories.

ESSENTIALS FOR THE BUYER -
This seminar shows the new Buyer the steps each Buyer needs to go through to be an effective Buyer-Planner. The three main objectives of this seminar are:
1) To clearly understand the role and responsibilities of the Buyer as well as to understand the principals, concepts and definitions of purchasing terms.
2) To obtain a working knowledge of the purchasing processes employed in the procurement of Goods and Services which are required by the attendees' firm.
3) The application of the principles and concepts through exercises and case histories.

WHO SHOULD ATTEND -
All Purchasing, Inventory and Supply professionals who plan material requirements, select, develop and maintain effective supplier relationships, and/or control inventories. Both the "hands on" professional as well as Management that has inherited the functions of Purchasing and Inventory Management and Control should attend.

WHAT YOU WILL LEARN -
You will learn what is the Buyer-Planner's primary responsibility. Amazingly, this surprises most people. You will also learn the importance planning, inventory costs, management and control, and the importance of source selection. Inventory analysis, demand systems, JIT systems, legal aspects, cost/price analysis, and keys to successful negotiations. Learn how Supply Management will lead your firm to success in the market place.

A WORD ABOUT OUR MANUALS -
Each seminar has its own manual and the two manuals have three things in common:
1) The workbook section which is to be used during the seminar. It contains easy to follow RELEVANT printed material and examples.
2) The most complete and easy to understand GLOSSARY of applicable terms available to the professional Buyer-Planner, all spelled out in a clear, non-technical manner.
3) An APPENDIX containing related, useful information of interest to the professional Buyer-Planner. Most of our students would agree that the manuals alone (which are not for sale) are worth the price of the seminar.

ISM / N.A.P.M. CREDITS -
Both of the above seminars are recognized by and registered with the NATIONAL ASSOCIATION OF PURCHASING MANAGEMENT for 7.5 NAPM continuing education hours, which is equal to one (1) C.P.M. point each.

SEMINAR FEE INCLUDES -
Each seminar includes a seminar manual, glossary of key Buyer-Planner terms, a certificate of completion suitable for framing, lunch, N.A.P.M. credits.
